1955 – Kennerley-Spratling Beginnings
After many years in the plastics industry, Fred Kennerley and Ernie Spratling planned to combine their knowledge of thermoplastics, processing, and tooling and start their own venture.

In 1955, Kennerley-Spratling Inc. was formed. Berkeley California was the location of the 5,000 foot facility with only three injection molding machines. The two entrepreneurs successfully grew the business with a focus on providing each and every customer with design and engineering of quality products and outstanding customer service.

1972 - New Ownership
When it came time to retire in 1972, the partners agreed to sell the firm to Furon (formerly Fluorocarbon). Furon was interested in the company for several reasons including the acquisition of a successful growing company that would fit into the plastics side of their High Performance Non Metallics division.

1977 - Back to the Beginning with a New Strategic Plan
Richard Spratling, the son of company founder Ernie Spratling, continued to work with the company after the sale to Furon. Five years later, Richard and some key employees were determined to purchase the company from Furon and continue the growth in the Consumer, Medical, Industrial and Commercial markets.

1981 – Affiliation with a Minority Business Enterprise
KS Automotive is a part of the Kennerley-Spratling Manufacturing Group. The company was formed as a Minority Business Enterprise and services the Automotive industry. KS Automotive specializes in design, engineering, tooling, injection molding and assembly. The company has fully implemented the Toyota Production System and has injection molding machines up to 1760 tons.

2002 – Growing Strong
Determined to expand the company further and add to an already impressive presence in the Medical industry, Kennerley-Spratling continued its growth with the addition of MOS Plastics to the Kennerley-Spratling Manufacturing Group. MOS Plastics services the Medical and High Tech industries. MOS has over 32 injection molding machines and a Class 10,000 clean room.

Into the Future
Under the guidance of company President Richard Spratling, Kennerley-Spratling remains dedicated to the original company mission in providing customers with quality, competitive solutions to design, tooling, injection molding and assembly. We understand that we are able to reach our goals only with the commitment made by our valued employees, customers and suppliers.
