SUMMARY:
- This position is responsible for conducting machine set up, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment.
- Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance of equipment.
- Perform mechanical skills including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting.
- Repair and maintain machinery and equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and conveyor systems.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Perform service and maintain auxiliary equipment such as chillers, heaters, dryers, grinders, and conveyors.
- Miscellaneous duties as required by Plant Manager
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Knowledge of 480/240 3-phase systems with an understanding of power distribution in an industrial plant.
- Knowledge of electric control systems, motors starters, heater circuits, relays, fuses, transformers, and contactors.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems such as pumps, directional valves, relief valves, and pressure flow concepts.
- Knowledge of electric and hydraulic schematics and machine control prints.
- Knowledge pneumatics, compressors, and cooling towers preferred.
- Must be a team player.
- Must have good customer service skills and be able to effectively interact with all departments.
- Must be able to demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.
- Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables where only limited standardization exists.
- Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Must be self-motivated and proactive.
- Must be proficient with all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Etc.)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 3-5 years of relevant maintenance experience in an injection molding facility desired but not required.
