SUMMARY:
The Quality Inspector will perform a variety of visual and mechanical inspections on materials at various levels of assemble and manufacturing.
Duties:
- Inspect molded and assembled products in process.
- Work from technical drawings and established operating procedures.
- Prepare inspection reports, records and tags.
- Conduct audits of processes involved in production.
- Work with production personnel to initiate corrective action.
- Interface with customers, vendors and all levels of management.
Essential Duties:
- Perform dimensional inspections twice per shift or as required by the customer and log the data in the electronic Quality Plans.
- Stamp and tag approved finished products for shipment.
- Inspect outgoing shipments against inspection criteria for conformance as needed.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices in all area in which work is performed.
When Required:
- Perform start up validation on molded components and assemblies.
- Walk the line with previous shift inspector covering all machines to ensure there is understanding on each job and that any pertinent information from that shift is communicated to the following shift inspector.
- Perform hourly visual inspection and log into component and part Quality Plans.
Skills and Requirements:
- Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate in English.
- Must be able to read and understand drawings.
- Accurately use inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gauges, pin gauges and thread gauges.
- Possess simple math skills.
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends.
- One to three years in manufacturing experience, specifically in a quality assurance role.
- High School Graduate
